Fourteen-year-old JD McCrary is the voice of young Billi in The MOJA Saga. His song in Volume Two, “Things a Young Boy Should Not See,” is one of the saga’s most emotional ballads.
After making his debut on the reality TV show “Little Big Shots,” McCrary quickly made a name for himself in the music and entertainment industry. McCrary is known for his role as young Simba in Disney’s live-action Lion King. He’s also seen in the movies Little (2019) and Black Is King (2020). McCrary has made appearances on several TV series, including The Paynes, Teachers, I’m Dying Up Here, K.C. Undercover, Blunt Talk, The Ellen Show, and The Eric Andre Show.
Musically, McCrary’s accolades also shine –– he’s worked with Jason Derulo, Charlie Puth, Dr. Dre, and Donald Glover (Childish Gambino). On Childish Gambino’s 2016 album “Awaken”, McCrary sings on the track “Terrified”, which the two performed together at the 60th annual Grammy Awards.
In 2018, the singer, actor, and dancer became the youngest artist to sign with Disney Music Group’s Hollywood Records. His first EP “Shine” debuted in April 2019, and his song “Keep In Touch” was featured in the video game Just Dance 2020.
